Description of the plant: Lavender is NOT lavender. It is what has been called the male variant, while angustifolia is the female variant. Chemically, they are very different and because latifolia is rich in monoterpene ketones (Borneon or Camphor) it becomes neurotoxic in the long run. Lavender is a Mediterranean plant that blooms in summer, starting in June. Its origin is in the west of the Mediterranean basin and it inhabits calcareous, dry, poor and sunny terrains in the mountains of the Principality of Catalonia and the northern half of the Valencian Country. It is also cultivated in Europe (Croatia, Italy, France and Portugal) and America, for its essence.
It does not like the cold, unlike Lavender angustifolia and we will find it from the coast up to 800 meters above sea level.
Traditional medicine: It is the best remedy for burns (including the most serious ones), wounds, skin infections, dermatitis, mycoses on the skin and acne.
Applications: Insect bites, mosquitoes, wasps
Migraines and neuralgia.
